Centimeter-Level RTK Positioning

FJD specifies the V1 at:

Horizontal RTK accuracy:
±8 mm + 1 ppm

Vertical RTK accuracy:
±15 mm + 1 ppm

Those numbers assume the system is operating under the appropriate conditions and is properly configured.

The important part for most people is what those specifications make possible.

The V1 is built for applications where positioning needs to be measured in centimeters rather than feet.

That opens the door to much more repeatable automation.

1,408 GNSS Channels

The current V1 platform uses 1,408 GNSS channels and supports multiple satellite constellations and frequencies.

Supported systems include:

  • GPS
  • BeiDou
  • GLONASS
  • Galileo
  • QZSS
  • NavIC
  • SBAS

I do not expect everyone buying an RTK base station to become a satellite-navigation engineer.

The practical point is that the V1 can work with a broad range of positioning signals instead of depending on one constellation alone.

That gives the system more information to work with and helps support reliable positioning in demanding outdoor applications.

Built-In Radio for Sending Corrections

A base station needs a way to get correction information from the base to the equipment using it.

The V1 includes an integrated UHF radio.

Depending on configuration and region, the system supports radio frequencies including:

410–470 MHz

and supported 902–928 MHz configurations.

Communication protocols include:

  • LoRa
  • TRIMTALK
  • TRIMMARK III
  • TT450S
  • TRANSEOT
  • Satel 3AS 4FSK

That gives the V1 compatibility with a range of professional RTK workflows.

Again, the important part is not memorizing the protocol list.

The important part is making sure the base station and the equipment receiving its corrections are configured to communicate properly.

That is something I would rather get right before the equipment goes into the field.

FJD Trion V1 Base Station — Now Available from Lawnamation

There are pieces of technology that get all the attention because they move, scan, mow, spray, or collect data.

Then there are pieces of technology working quietly in the background that make everything else more accurate.

The FJD Trion V1 Base Station falls into that second category.

I am making the V1 available through Lawnamation because reliable positioning is becoming one of the foundations of robotic mowing, autonomous equipment, agriculture, mapping, and precision outdoor work.

If equipment needs to know exactly where it is, it needs a dependable reference.
